Having Trouble Staying Motivated?

I love my routine. But, as a wife and mom of four, including a newborn with an unpredictable sleeping routine, not everyday goes as planned.

Like you, I have projects to finish, goals in place and a desire to be strong, healthy and consistent in all areas of my life.

Yesterday I didn’t get to the gym before work so the choice was to either workout in my living room once I got home or skip it all together.

I wanted to skip it. And so I sat on the couch for 20 minutes trying to talk myself into it.

The motivation never arrived. 😒

Although I wanted it to hit me like a triple shot espresso, I knew I didn’t need it.

So, I got up from the couch, walked a mile in the snow (kidding 😉😆) over to my bedroom, put my workout clothes on, laced up the sneakers and got moving.

The best workout is a finished one.

One thing that has kept me moving on days when I cannot muster up any motivation is knowing that staying motivated isn’t a real thing 💥

No one stays motivated.

Motivation is fickle, fleeting and cannot be trusted to show up for you everyday.

So if today is one of those days where you’re looking for motivation and it’s nowhere to be found, remember that you don’t need it!

So, get up and complete the workout, finish the task or begin the new project.

Not because we are looking for perfect attendance, but because we know that it’s not perfection we are after, but progress.

And progress shows up overtime—small, consistent steps in the right direction yield the results we desire!

Consistency reveals our maturity and develops the confidence necessary to level up.

Consistency is what seperates finishers from those who give up too soon.

So, let’s keep going one step at a time!
