Making A Splash (Pt 1)

If you know anything about my kids and the water, you know that it’s all fun and games until someone splashes them with water in their face. Water parks have been some of the most dramatic family outings– Like full on screaming and crying at the thought of walking through water spraying from the ground.

It’s been both frustrating and sad for me as a mom to watch my kids experience such fear.

Imagine with me, two weeks of many, I mean many, (if you have been around a four year old lately, you know there’s a lot of questions involved in any and every conversation) conversations. Each of these conversations, we have ended by taking it to Jesus and praying that He would make us Brave!

Each day, while at the pool or somewhere, I have witnessed my babies take steps towards overcoming their fear.

Last week, I posted a picture of my daughter, Kennedi in the middle of a spray/splash pad park. This was just weeks after crying hysterically when I walked (dragged) her through a less intimidating spray/splash pad park.

Watching these girls run through water, brought me such unexplainable JOY! They were laughing, giggling, and experiencing freedom.

In the middle of the fun, Kennedi ran over to where I was standing and gave me the biggest kiss! The look in her eyes was priceless. This was my BLOG moment.

I kissed her back and asked her this, “Isn’t this an amazing life? Isn’t this the best life? A life without giving into fear? I’m so glad baby girl that you are expericing this extravagantly free life Jesus has for you!”

It was like an arrow being shot out of my quiver as I released those words, as I posed those powerful questions. Immediately, I felt the Holy Spirit ask me the same question.

Sarah! Isn’t this an amazing life? Isn’t this the best life? A life that does not hold back, lay down or retreat in the face of fear? I want you baby girl to experience this extravagantly free life I have for you!

When I asked Kennedi those questions, her response was simply this. “Just as you said, mommy!”

I promised her that joy, fun & freedom were on the other side of her steps of faith!

The same is for you and the same is for me. God’s promises can be trusted. What waits for us on the other side of our greatest fear, is our most meaningful life!

So, I’ll ask you this, “FRIEND! Isn’t this an amazing life? Isn’t this the best life? A life that does not hold back, lay down or retreat in the face of fear? JESUS wants you baby girl to experience this extravagantly free life He has for you!

I would love to hear from you!! What area or areas in your life are you expericing fear? What steps of faith can you take today to silence that fear?
